BTC 2010 TO BE HELD AT THE FIERA DI RIMINI EXPO CENTRE

Data : 10 Mar 2010

BTC chooses Fiera di Rimini as the venue for the 2010 show.
This cutting-edge exhibition grounds, among the most modern and best
equipped in Italy, guarantees the highest levels of efficiency and accessibility.
Rimini’s new Palacongressi will be opened in September.

10 MARCH 2010 – BTC 2010 will be held on 1 and 2 July at Fiera di Rimini,
rather than at the new Palacongressi conference and exhibition centre as
previously announced.

“Rimini’s Palacongressi will be a state-of-the-art facility, which will therefore require absolute levels of quality. To guarantee these, it has been decided to delay its opening,” said Paolo Audino, managing director of Exmedia, the company that organises BTC. “Thanks to the versatility of Rimini’s conference system, the only of its kind in Italy, we can use the expo centre to host BTC, combining the uniqueness of the show’s design with the added value of a facility universally known for its structural, organisational and functional qualities”.

“In terms of organisation and logistics, the new venue does not involve any change for BTC” confirms Gabriella Ghigi, Exhibition Manager. “Fiera di Rimini is a topquality facility which will provide us with all the space and services necessary to ensure BTC is a success in its new, more interactive and experiential format".

Following the decision of Società del Palazzo dei Congressi (the company
responsible for the construction of Palacongressi) to postpone the opening of the new Palacongressi until September, the choice of the Fiera di Rimini expo centre as the new venue for BTC is therefore based on its standing as a cutting-edge facility perfectly suited for trade shows.

The Rimini exhibition grounds is one of the most modern and best equipped in Italy: designed by Studio GMP of Hamburg and opened in 2001, it covers an area of 460,000 square metres (160,000 sqm of green space) and is one of the very few in the country to boast an internal railway station (Milan-Bari line).

It has a gross exhibition area of 109,000 sqm, 16 20-metre high one-storey halls each covering 6,000 sqm, with no internal pillars and linked together by a path comprising loggia, porticoes and fountains, 24 conference rooms with up to 730 seats, a business centre, press rooms, two restaurants, ten F&B outlets and 11,000 parking spaces.

The company Rimini Fiera is ISO 9001 certified for its entire management process and also has UNI EN ISO 14001 environmental certification.

In 2009 the centre, which is the venue for 37 shows including 11 international,
welcomed 11,209 exhibitors and 1,895,980 visitors, and sold 1,153,482 square metres of exhibition space.

Its new date at the beginning of July remains one of the key advantages of
BTC 2010: the traditional autumn appointment was abandoned on the explicit
request of the market:
November is now a month of intense activity for company and association meetings and events, whereas the beginning of July was identified as the most suitable “low season” period in which to look for new venues, services and suppliers before the pick-up in activity in the autumn. It is therefore an excellent time for the B2B, networking and professional education activities that BTC offers.

The choice of Rimini as the new host city for BTC, following three years in
Rome, has been reaffirmed as very positive. Rimini is one of Italy’s leading
destinations for large events: it boasts an integrated exhibition and conference system, certified suppliers, quality hotels, venues and infrastructure, and a long and consistent track record in hosting national and international trade shows and events.

The support of the Riviera di Rimini Convention Bureau, which coordinates local public and private operators in the industry, represents a further guarantee for BTC; the show will therefore be able to offer exhibitors, buyers and visitors a synergic experience of the destination and of its products and services.

Furthermore, Rimini is particularly pleasant at the beginning of July: while it is not yet high tourist season, it can still offer BTC participants all the benefits of a seaside resort in terms of networking venues.

Finally, Rimini is easily accessible from across Europe: in the summer, the
international airport offers flights to 25 continental destinations through traditional and low-cost airlines. Within a range of 100 kilometres, the airports of Forlì (40 km), Ancona (90 km) and Bologna (Italy’s third largest, 100 km away) offer further national and international routes. The three cities are connected to Rimini by more than 50 daily train services.
