BTC 2011 attendance figures up 8.8%

The show again proved it is the key event in the life of the Italian industry: good results for both the “commercial” side, which successfully brought together supply and demand, and the “institutional” side, with the presentations of Italy’s Convention Bureau and the interregional MICE in Italia project.

The proposed new survey, conducted by BTC on behalf of Federcongressi&eventi, widens the sphere of investigation, and includes a specific section on events’ economic impact. The first results will be presented at the Federcongressi&eventi convention next March, and the complete report at BTC 2012.

Exhibitors gave positive feedback on BTC 2011: an analysis of the first questionnaire slot on satisfaction obtained at the end of the two days shows that many plan to return and generally held the hosted buyers met and the quality of appointments in high regard.

313 exhibitors are attending the show, on a fully-taken exhibition floor, and around 300 hosted buyers from Italy and 14 other countries. The opening press conference, in which representatives of various authorities are taking part, will be held at 12.00. Pre-show activities for hosted buyers hailed a success.

Findings from the survey on corporate investment and buying behaviour conducted by the Piepoli Institute for BTC are positive overall: budgets have been confirmed or increased in both Italy and Europe, albeit to different extents. European companies express satisfaction with Italy as a destination.
